It was a night to learn from last night when Black Leopards droped their concentration and went down 5 - 2 to a capitalizing Swallows.

The pair's efforts followed teammate Giorgi Nergadze's 57th minute opener, with Kingston Nkhatha netting two late consolation goals at Giyani Stadium.

Lidoda Duvha hover a point above the drop zone and Santos with a game in hand while victory lifts Swallows within two points of leaders Orlando Pirates with two matches to go.

In a goalless first half, Leopards had the chance to draw first blood when Tiyani Mabunda's shot was tipped over the bar by Swallows goalkeeper Greg Etafia in the 25th minute.

Nomvethe and ex-Sundowns star Lerato Chabangu threatened for the visitors but failed to find the net before the break.

The contest, though, ignited just before the hour mark, as Nergadze connected with a header to give Swallows the lead.

Nomvethe, the PSL's leading scorer, added two more in the 71st and 80th minute - taking his tally to 18 for the season - before fellow hit man Maleka also got in on the act in the 81st and 83rd minute.

Nkhatha restored some respect to the score line with two of his own in the dying stages of the tie. Leopards showed character by indicating a never give up attitude but were too late to level the scoring as the 90 minute mark hit.
