Black Leopards made a critical jump out of the bottom of the league table with a valuable 2-1 victory over Santos at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.
The three points enabled 'Lidoda Duvha' to leapfrog the 'Peoples Team', who now find themselves stuck in the drop zone, just above lowly Jomo Cosmos.
After a goalless opening half, Rodney Ramagalela fired Leopards ahead in the 47th minute with a righted-footed shot into the bottom of the net.
Thomas Madimba doubled the lead eight minutes later, as he volleyed home a pass from Raymond Monama.
The People's Team responded via the penalty spot in the 58th minute, with Eleazar Rodgers punishing an adjudged hand-ball by defender Humphrey Khoza.
Duncan Crowie's men, however, could find no way back, leaving them second-bottom on the PSL standings with 19 points - one less than Leopards and three ahead of Cosmos.
