By now everyone knows the sponsor behind Black Leopards FC and the team has been playing with class just like the brand that they wear with pride KAPPA.
Blackleopardsfc.com caught up with PR and Communications Manager of Lidoda Duvha Tendani Thidiela and had a bit of a chat regarding the sponsor.
BlackLeopardsFC.com: Welcome Tendani
Tendani Thidiela: Thank you for having me.
BLFC: A few weeks ago KAPPA officialy launched their brand back here in South Africa, any comments on that?
TT: Great launch it was. They set up their expectations from a South African perspective besides from Leopards. They are looking for bigger and better things for their brand and hopefully we will be there with them to take them to higher frontiers.
BLFC: We spoke to KAPPA SA and they are more than happy to be part of Leopards, what can you add to that?
TT: Look, they have fully been behind us from the beginning. When KAPPA came back to SA it was a shootout but out of the 16 teams they chose to sponsor Black Leopards as we made our return to the PSL. This was a boost of confidence and we are looking to pay them back that confidence.
BLFC: What do you think about the kit?
TT: The kit is world class; we now share the same kit as the Fulham, Portsmouth etc. of this world. We have the latest in KAPPA gear which makes us better-off than many teams in the PSL. We now play in quality gear and should reflect it on the pitch as well, which I think we are proving as time goes.
BLFC: So you think the kit has some effect on the players?
TT: Look soccer is a cruel sport and not all the time one will get things the way they prefer but we have turned the corner regarding the PSL performance as well as in Africa and we just have to build on that.
BLFC: Your feelings regarding being a team with KAPPA now?
TT: Black Leopards on itself is a growing brand and it will be one of the biggest brands in the future, now with KAPPA on board and with their reputation as a huge brand we shall build together in harmony.
BLFC: How long are you planning on nurturing the relationship with KAPPA?
TT: Currently we have a 3 year sponsorship but as for the long-term we have a 5-10 year long plan to grow together with a technical brand like KAPPA. We want it to last as long as possible.
BLFC: Massage to fans?
TT: Keep supporting the team and together we will go further and buy the KAPPA gear in numbers. Feel the quality that the players themselves feel when wearing that gear.
