More positive than negative Black Leopards collect another valuable point in an away match as they gave a rigid fight to come back from 2-0 down to stealing a point with a 2-2 draw at Charles Mopeli against a determined Free State Stars.
Itumeleng Duiker netted an injury time goal to earn his side a 2-2 draw. Kennedy Mweene had netted from the penalty spot after just six minutes to give his side an early lead with Zakari Morou adding a second with 69 minutes on the clock.
But Mongezi Bobe pulled a goal back with 76 minutes gone before Duiker popped up to secure a share of the spoils.
The result sees Lidoda Duvha move four points clear of 15th-placed Santos, ahead of their tie with SuperSport United, and eight clear of Jomo Cosmos, who take on Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday evening.
Stars though missed out on the opportunity to move above Kaizer Chiefs and into fourth place, and remain Behind SuperSport, in sixth.
Mweene was called into action early on as he confidently denied Nkosiyabo Xakane with just two minutes played before converting his side's opener after Vincent Mabusela was adjudged to have handled in the box. Stars came close to extending their lead in the 37th minute, but Mzikayise Mashaba skewed his effort when through on goal.
Mabusela saw his goal-bound shot saved by Mweene at the end of the first half with Mashaba and Enva Wiltwer both trying their luck albeit unsuccessfully in the second period.
The hosts though doubled their advantage as substitute Morou hit the target after getting on the end of a Katlego Mashego cross in the latter stages of the game.
But fighting for their lives, Leopards were not to be denied and Raymond Monama expertly set up Bobe to reduce the deficit before the midfielder teed up Duiker in the area, who slotted the ball past Mweene.
