‘Yona ke yona’ and yes it has brought us a lot of surprises from record braking goals to the defending champions being knocked out. But yet again the under-dogs are still in it to win it.

Black Leopards just like the previous season are still in the competition and will be taking on Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday 31 March 2012. A media conference was held at the PSL offices on Thursday and Leopards Coach Heric Vladislav and Captain Bobe were present, Blackleopardsfc.com had a one on one chat with the coach and this is what the Head man had to say:

Blackleopardsfc.com: what are your thought on the upcoming weekend game?
Heric Vladislav:
Look Chiefs are absolute favourites in the coming game but it doesn’t mean that they are unbeatable. We shall do our best to try and beat them though it will be a tough and tactical game. Furthermore it will be a game between 2 ‘home-boy’ coaches me and VV, and as for the fans I think it will be much entertaining.

BL: The team has been winning important games lately, what contributes to that performance?
HV
: The first thing is tactical discipline which matters the most in football. The guys listen and apply exactly what I say in the field of play. In addition I think the type of training we use, and the methods fit with the players very well.

BL: Giyani seems to be a lucky charm for wins, is Peter Mokaba different?
HV:
The difference is that in Giyani we feel more at home and the soul of the team is there which makes it much easier to give a super performance. In Mokaba its different it is more like a neutral ground. Another important factor that contributes in Giyani is that we have a large fan base that come out in numbers to support the team and praise must be given to them.

BL: You are out of the relegation zone for now?
HV
: we are not safe as yet. I think anything can still happen with the realistic truth of 8 games remaining. Keep in mind that we are just one point away from the relegation zone, which is not a big enough gap for us to be comfortable. We cannot relax.

BL: Final comments regarding all competitions you are still involved in?
HV:
Well, on the League the new position just serves as a boost or reminder that we are heading in the correct direction. In all competitions we have won 6 matches in the last 8 games including the CAF Cup and the Nedbank Cup. In conclusion we are proud to be performing like this as not many teams can say they have performed like us in the CAF Confederation and the Nedbank alike. The league run is the most important of all of course and we are to treat it that way.
