Two nights ago was the launch of KAPPA SA in Sandton City and a lot of football personnel were present to bless the event but there was a familiar musician’s face at the event.

Yes Danny K was all smiles and looking impressed at the event held at Taboo (Sandton). It doesn’t get better than this and you will only find it right here on Blackleopardsfc.com.

We rubbed shoulders with the South African Pop star and were able to get you this one-on-one interview with Danny, and here’s how it went:

danny 4.jpgBlacleopardsfc.com: Thanks for your time D.
Danny K:
My pleasure.

BLFC: Can you give us a brief background about you and KAPPA.
DK
: Well, for starters I may confirm that my relationship with KAPPA is family orientated as I was the brand ambassador for their other brand SUPEGA. They have done so well with SUPEGA and they have been a sponsor of mine as well so I naturally came out to support KAPPA.

BLFC: what do you think of the brand?
DK:
I intend on wearing the brand like I stated that I have supported them for many years. I have love for the brand because I remember KAPPA from a very young age and South Africans will remember it since it was here before. Hence I still have pictures of myself in KAPPA gear at the tender age of 4-5 years, so for me it’s very nostalgic  and I am happy that they are finally back with their great sporting history.

BLFC: Have you been appointed as ambassador?
DK:
Well, we are in talks myself and KAPPA but definitely tonight was a start of a relationship of that sort.

danny 2.jpgBLFC: In a sporting perspective, do you have a history in football?
DK
: Yes actualy. Stan Mathews (PSL CEO) who spoke here tonight used to coach me at the age of say under-9 or and 10 in Johannesburg Highlands Park. So I’ve been a soccer player before I became a singer. But I wasn’t a very good player [chuckles]. Though I still have a great love for football.

BLFC: Will you support Black Leopards at any point?
DK:
Well if I become the KAPPA ambassidor then I won’t have a choice now would I [Laughs…]

BLFC: Finally what is your massage to the fans out there?
DK
: As a sign of the times it is wonderful to see the re-introduction of international brands to South Africa. We hope that this can inject some into football and commerce in this country. As closer, if the family that brought this brand along with their success history in what they have done with SUPEGA then I think with KAPPA they will be received well in SA and will be nothing less than successful.
