Black Leopards FC have been a very important part of the South African football landscape for a significant part of the last three decades.

DavidThidiela500.jpgThe club was founded in 1983 by business people in Venda in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. In 1998, the club was taken over by the Thidiela family. After just two seasons of campaigning in the National First Division, Black Leopards were promoted to the elite division of the country.

They were relegated to the First Division in 2008 after seven seasons in the Premiership, and returned to the big time in the 2011-12 season.
